The island of Réunion is a volcanic island very young and thus very rich as regards natural landscapes. Indeed 60% of its territory are perched in the mountains. It is besides the zone which corresponds to the national park tops. It is also the window on the “Natural heritage of UNESCO” from Réunion. This program proposes to you to plunge yourselves in the middle of this region through an exhaustive program of excursion. This one will enable you to discover the vestiges of the Piton of snows, volcano which was at the origin of the formation of the island. You will be able to also have an outline of the cultural heritage and architectural, by visiting the “creole villages” of Hell-Borough and of the Entre Deux…
Day 1 :
St Denis
Catch of your car to the airport and night in the tops of St Denis. Hotel 2* in half board. Free discovery of the city. Road towards "le Brûlé" for an immersion in the heights, in the midle of the forest. 2 picnics to be forseen for the 2 days hike.
Day 2 ti Day 3 :
2days hike. Roche Ecrite discover a sanctuary of nature unique in the world, very close from the town. Impresive panoramic vue over "la Roche écrite", one of the most beatiful site of the island
D2 : 3h + 700m : approach walk towards the gîte of "la Roche Ecrite" (cuation overnight in harms dormitories half board accomodation).
D3 : 6h + 400m; - 1100m return by the same way, after having raised to the summit. Then you head for Salazie - Hell Bourg. Half board overnight in guest house.
Day 4 :
Hell- Bourg
Visist of Hell Bourg and/or canyon (the aqualand of Réunion price: 75 E/pers). Return to accomodation half board pension.
Day 5 to day 6 : Mafate the Heights
Cirque of Mafate
Hike in the paradise of hiking activity, the heiights of Mafate and its isolated hamlets.
D5 and D6 : return trip. Acccordinf to the itinerary:
D5 : 5 to 7h + 700m; - 600m half board overnight in gîte in double rooms if there are available, otherwise in harms dormitories.
J6 : 4h + 700m; - 600m. Return to your vehicule road to the 'Est. Overnight in a hotel half board.
Day 7 :
South of the island - Furnace Peak
Dicouvery of the wild south with possibility to visit of "Réunion in construction" : recent lavas and waves asault on the black basalt. Overnight near its majesty the volcano, in guest house and half board.
Day 8 :
the Furnace Peak
Volcano hike between 6 to 10h according to the acces available (seen National of forest). Road to Entre Deux. Overnght in this creole in a guest house, hald board pension.
Day 9 :
Cilaos
Possible guide visit (count 9 E/pers for a groupe of over 3 pers) of the village and the cultural and architectural of the island, in the morning heritage. Afternoon Cilaos and the "end of the world village" via one of the most beatiful beach of the island. Overnight in a guest house in half board pension.
Day 10 :
Cilaos
Hike or canyonning between pools and water falls, it is the most attractive site for practisind these activities...return to your accomodation in half board pension.
Day 11 to day 12 :
Piton des Neiges
Piton des Neiges. the roof of the Indian Ocean (in option difficult hike)
D11 3h + 1200m; Caution rustic refuge, no water. Overnight in refuge or in organised campement.
D12 7h + 600m; - 1800m. Transfer to the west in a hotel in BB : beach and rest.
